A Stubborn Show

I recently went to a friend’s house for a visit casually to meet him as our vacations had just begun. Other friends were also there so were just chilling around and having fun. Amidst this, one of the friends asked me to get Betsy, who happens to be a dog that’s visiting me since her people had gone away for vacations. I readily went and got the dog from my apartment which wasn’t far away.  Betsy was so excited to meet the friend who asked to see her. I made sure that I was in the veranda of the friend’s house because I knew people have reservations about animals inside their houses which is totally understandable. But while playing around, Betsy managed to give us the slip and entered the house to the room where the other friends were. On seeing her enter I held her up and scolded her. This morning I got up just minutes before my lecture.  I didn't really have time to spare, but knowing that punctuality was lost, I figured I might browse through my facebook feed. Scrolling along a post read "...  May she rest in peace...'' And a familiar name tagged and picture of a known face attached.  Also found in the post was the following: '.... The suffering you had to go through will not be tolerated, those heartless demons will be punished and you will seek justice...' How much ruthless suffering and deaths should go by before it is affirmed  in our minds that, RAPE IS WRONG. MURDER IS WRONG. No matter what moral Landscape  you belong to these things are wrong, just SIMPLY  wrong. To desecrate a human life in a matter of moments. I sometimes  wonder if humanity still exists somewhere or did it die a long time back. I won't ask you to like, commend or share. It's saddening to see educated individuals who even after knowing  how the human psyche works, would still prefer to visit shamans, priests, mullahs and pundits rather than visit a professional psychologist /psychiatrist. This is often associated with the stigma that visiting a Healthcare professional indicates that one is ill and whispers in the community reach a peak if the Healthcare professional happens to be one related to matters of the mind. But on the contrary it's perfectly normal to take counsel  from people who are advocates for supernatural  phenomenon. Eradicating this stigma would take ages, so the best plan would be for any spiritual/religious guru who alongside with studying their religion amongst the hundreds there are, also complete a professional course. And most important of all, to not allow their religious doctrine to dictate their counsel.
